Edwards played Goose way back in 1986, but his memory lives on through his look-alike son Rooster in Top Gun: Maverick. 

In addition to his character as Goose, Edwards is recognized for roles in ER, Zodiac, Hustle, and Revenge of the Nerds. Nowadays, he is happily married to Mare Winningham and has four children from his previous marriage.
