The novel is a tragic historical romance loosely based on Joan Miro's life in Paris at the time of WWII (circa 1944). The woman in the novel is a Russian ballerina; the man, an artist. I want to evoke the era and location as well as the artistic sensibility of the time. I also want to evoke the romantic nature of the story without looking too "romancy".
