This a series of books written by Howard Engel about his most famous character Benny Cooperman, a Canadian detective icon. He is more soft-boiled than hard-boiled and is more likely to be running away from the bad guys than chasing them. Though he dosen't carry a gun, he gets in where it hurts and always solves the crime. Light hearted crime fiction with lots of black humour.
