Job Summary:
Supports the acquisition and retention of customers across multiple customer segments, brands and markets by producing compelling, audience-focused written content that effectively positions, differentiates and promotes our diverse range of products and services. Creates informational, marketing and promotional content for presentation through print, online and other mediums. Must understand strategic marketing objectives, gather, evaluate and position relevant information from subject matter experts across our organization, and contribute to the development of targeted communications materials for Employers, Brokers and Consumers. Reports to the Senior Marketing Manager.


Responsibilities:
1. Generates compelling, engaging copy in a fast-paced environment, with superior attention to detail, under tight deadlines. Must demonstrate excellent conceptual abilities and be able to work within a team environment. Strong planning and problem solving abilities are a must.
2. Deliverables may include content for marketing collaterals, Web sites, sales presentations, advertising, collateral and proposals.
3. Write consistently strong, persuasive copy that speaks directly to audience needs and preferences.
4. Work as part of a creative team to execute concepts through final product.
5. Edit, revise, version and proofread copy, mechanicals and proofs for consistency, accuracy and effectiveness. Make revisions as needed based on direction from marketing management.
6. Adhere to departmental, corporate, legal and regulatory standards.
7. Assist other staff members with projects as needed.
8. Work collaboratively with members of other departments, including Sales, Product Development, Research, Medical Management, Operations, eBusiness, Legal and Corporate Communications.
9. May collaborate with divisions, departments and project managers to develop timeline for content development, and future writing projects.
10. Serve as liaison with other divisions and departments to ensure that content, text, graphics, etc., are consistent between communication mediums.
11. Provide editorial consulting services to other departments to ensure consistency and accuracy of messages across channels
12. Contribute to creative presentations and brainstorming sessions.
13. Assume additional responsibilities, including editorial support for proposal writing, as required.
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or Liberal Arts field with strong persuasive writing emphasis.
2. A minimum of 6 years MarCom writing experience in insurance, financial services or consulting services.
3. Understanding of layout design, working knowledge of professional publishing and presentation software, including Microsoft Office.
4. Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
5. The interpersonal skills to develop and maintain productive relationships with peers and company leadership.
6. Must provide portfolio of writing samples prior to interview.
Preferred Qualifications:
7. User interface (UI) writing and/or copy-editing experience a plus.
8. Ability to organize and create content that is presented in an often-complex, multimedia mix.
9. Writing experience at an e-commerce, retail, advertising or direct marketing company
