Job Description:PRIMARY FUNCTION/POSITION SUMMARY:Utilize current graphic design technology and computer software packages to design the proposal document and all materials that accompany it ensuring that all materials are sophisticated and professional. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS (Duties include but are not limited to the following): · Design the proposal document in a style that is appropriate to the type of property in the collection and the personality of the consignor. · Interact with Proposal Writer and Specialists to ensure that the appropriate design is carried through. · Create proposal covers, mock catalogues and layout mock catalogue entries. · Design any other special materials that would accompany a proposal. · Maintain the Proposals department’s database of images and proposals. · Provide instructions or directly assembles and prepares final layouts for printer. · Interact with outside vendor for production of certain materials such as proposal covers. · Other duties include scanning, cutting, and pasting of some materials; ordering special papers, folders and other design related materials. · Other duties as assigned by Manager. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: · College degree · Graphic course preferred · A minimum of one-to-two years of work experience. · Computer software programs such as Quark, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, InDesign · Knowledge of printing methods. · Familiarity with production procedures. · Ability to work under tight deadlines and intense pressure.
