Below are some photos from the opening of House Industries' "Type as Object" Exhibition & Pop-Up Shop at the Type Directors Club in New York City.

"A new exhibition of prints, patterns, products, installations and sculptures based on House Industries’ 16-year love affair with alphabetical forms. Pixels, points and curves are indispensable conveniences to the modern type designer, but House Industries artists discovered the resulting digital vapor did not deliver a satisfying tactile experience..."—TDC




The exhibition will be on view through November 20th at the TDC in New York City.
As a proper ending to the show, Ken Barber will offer a "Letter as Image" workshop on November 20th, 2009 (unfortunately it is costly, but sounds great).
A highlight for us was seeing all of the House/Alexander Girard objects in person.
We ended up buying a small limited-edition book which goes into greater depth behind
the research rich project.
