I just saw a segment on CNN about the artist Laura Gilbert and her creation of the "Zero Dollar," and couldn't pass on posting about this. Laura Gilbert was passing out 10,000 fake "zero" dollars in front of the New York Stock Exchange today (signed limited editions). The art piece is about "the destructive role of many financial institutions, and the decline of U.S. currency to the point of seeming worthlessness." What perfect timing!

They all bear the numerical value zero, thus feigning to be worth even less than the paper on which they were printed or the metal on which they were struck.
