The graphic design surrounding Jazz music likely infiltrated my conscience at an early age. Festival posters featured bold typography, limited, but striking color palettes and black and white or duotone photography. Reid Miles' work for Blue Note during the 50's and 60's exemplifies these design characteristics and provides a visual counterpart to much of the music the legends of Jazz blessed us with during this special time in history.
